Seesmic and Mogulus
I’d love one Thayer, but I’m guessing it’s gone already. However, I’ll still post you my link of the week in the spirit of all things 2.0
http://www.mogulus.com/
These guys have smartly opened up their beta stage; and started recruiting users already. They give you the ability to have your own iptv player, either broadcasting your own webcam/ encoded professional cam, or your own pre-recorded content, or mix in films from the Tube/Vimeo or (coming soon) practically anywhere else on the net.
The most exciting bit is the broadcast live feature, which up to now has required mr lo-fi content producer to have access to someone’s flash media server/ windows media server or a viable quiktime/reel player streaming video network (phew!).
Ready… Steady…. Go! – here comes a stream of duff content I’m sure before the good stuff starts to emerge.
In 2006, TimeOut awarded “you, the user generated content maker”, the person of the year. I wonder if they spoke too soon as two years later we’re just swimming in (lets face it) crap content. The Tube was heralded as a revolutionary creative platform, but it’s rapidly becoming the Macdonald’s of video uploading sites.
With sites like Seesmic and Mogulus on the upcoming list, it’s going to be an interesting few months for broadcasting the live event; as people increasingly expect digital ‘stuff’, for free; the premium will most definitely move to presenting the real thing, live and uncut.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the comment. Yep, the invite code went pretty quick 🙂
Thanks for your comment, I’ll check Mogulus out, sounds interesting.
