Looking for sponsorship? This is the best way of going about it I’ve ever seen

A short post from me, but I had to note this for posterity, and spread the word.

And I sent that request right on to the right people. Here’s the url: http://updateconf.com/call-for-sponsors/nokia and here’s the bespoke sponsor pack.

Absolutely genius.

Personal, easy to pass to the right person, well crafted, shows the conference actually wants the sponsor as opposed to just seeing who they can get, easy to read and understand. If all sponsor packs were like this my job would be extremely easy, as would I imagine, getting the funds and input you’re after for your event.

I might borrow this idea in future (if Aral says it’s ok!) – but this is the best way I’ve seen to engage with your potential sponsors, and I’ve been engaged in that capacity for five years now. Bravo Aral!

    Hey Thayer,

You’re more than welcome to borrow the idea and thank-you again for this lovely post. It put a smile on my face. Hope you’re enjoying the sunshine. 🙂

PS. The link for the call for sponsors will now just lead to the sponsors section (unfortunately, we didn’t hear back from Nokia) but we are happy to have HP and Microsoft, as well as Appcelerator Titanium from our original call as sponsors so I guess it did work 🙂

Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the
pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same results.
